COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING

October 21, 2022 - The City of Camilla has officially received $909,042 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for major sewer infrastructure improvements in the Palmer Street, Butler Street, and Inman Street neighborhoods.
 
Mayor Owens and City Manager Stroud traveled to Albany on October 19th to accept nearly $1 Million in CDBG funds from Georgia Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Christopher Nunn. The Community Development Block Grant is a competitive program that provides flexible funding to carry out a wide range of community development activities directed toward neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and improved community facilities/services. The City of Camilla was also notified they met criteria to maintain their Revitalization Area Strategy designation, which provides incentives to communities who implement comprehensive redevelopment activities for targeted areas in their city or county.
